PT3.1: Low cost and durable catalysts for zero-emission hydrogen and ammonia combustion
This five-year core research project which started on 1 June 20023 at the University of Surrey involves the development, design, and testing of durable and low-cost catalysts for converting the emission gases NH3 and NOx to nitrogen under various conditions, as well as advanced characterisation and theoretical modelling for understanding the fundamental reaction mechanisms. The project lead is Prof Qiong Cai, and the lead researcher is Dr Emre KILIÇ, with two PhD students funded by the Institute for Sustainability and the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Surrey, to support the delivery of the project. PT3.1 is supported by industry partners Johnson Matthey, SLB, and Fluor.
